RAWALPINDI, Sept 6: The Tehsil authorities here on Friday started the distribution of wheat bags in the drought affected areas and the whole exercise is expected to be completed within 10 days.The Punjab government has provided 55,000 bags of wheat worth Rs50 million for the destitute persons and people affected by drought in the Rawalpindi district.

ISLAMABAD: United Nations World Food Programme has pledged $8 million for the assistance of 280,000 drought-affected people in Balochistan and Sindh provinces. "WFP will provide $7-8 million to feed 280,000 draught-affected people in Balochistan and Sindh provinces," said WFP Executive Director James T Morris, while addressing a news conference here on Monday.
